1. Describe the logo using the language of the Elements and Principles of Design.
This BP logo, which contains a flower-like icon, is displayed to us in a green-to-black gradient on a coffee-like stained background. The whole poster is created in a simple manner, and yet it still has the ability to reveal attractive display.
2. Describe the symbols used in the logo. Why did the graphic artist use such imagery?
The flower-like symbol is presented in a fashion in which the green part fades into hues of black. I suppose they are displaying what once was (a green, healthy environment) and what came out of it (black pollution). It's a clever way to present the difference in the environmental state because it makes a lot of sense. Green to black. Healthy to dirty.
3. What does this logo say of BP's coroporate identity?
This logo is translated into French, but it pretty much is self-explanatory since it shows us overwhelming statistics on BP's corporate identity. From the look of those numbers, it doesn't seem like they're giving them a good name. Also, 'pollution' is written in big letters, which is a big negative on BP's part to everyone who views this logo.
